Who doesn’t know Alice? We all probably know the name Alice from the very popular children’s story “Alice in Wonderland”. Her enchanting adventure in the Wonderland where she had entered has become a very catching tale which has found a space in the hearts of many readers all around the world, both young and old. The story was originally written by Lewis Carroll, a famed children’s story writer, who is now known as one of the most popular literary nonsense writers of all time.  And now many fans are choosing to order Alice in Wonderland personal bank checks for themselves.

The story of Alice in Wonderland revolves around the fantasy world where Alice falls into after following a white rabbit and jumping into a rabbit hole. Inside the hole, Alice finds herself in a hall with different sizes of doors. She finds a potion which she drinks and she shrinks to the size of the smallest door. After entering it, she finds a cake which she eats and regains her original height, causing her to bump her head on the ceiling. Alice cries and cries and her tears flooded the hallway.

When Alice picked up a fan, she shrank again, and so she swam through her own river of tears. She saw a mouse which she tried to have conversation with, but because she could only talk about her cat, the mouse was quite offended. After a while, they were joined by many other animals that were brought in by the flood. They discussed about how they could get themselves dry again. The animals gave different suggestions, but a Dodo bird said that a caucus-race where they swam around and around without no apparent goal is the best way for this to happen. In the end, Alice drove away all the animals with stories of her cat which brought fear to them.

After this event, Alice finds herself once more in the presence of the White Rabbit. The rabbit, thinking that Alice was his maidservant, ordered her to get the Duchess’s fan and gloves inside the house. But when Alice entered the rabbit’s house, she started growing back to normal size. The rabbit quickly orders his animal servants to get her out of the house through the chimney, and the other creatures throw pebbles at her. The pebbles apparently turn into small cakes which Alice eats, and while doing so, shrinks back to small size.

Alice continues to venture inside the Wonderland. She meets a blue caterpillar who sits on a mushroom and smokes a hookah. He told Alice that one end of the mushroom makes her smaller while the other end makes her taller, so Alice took a piece of both ends. She experimented with it, eating a piece which made her smaller than ever and another piece that made her neck very long, which caused a pigeon to think that she was a serpent. She took another piece of the mushroom and returned to her usual small size.

She went inside the Duchess’s house and held the Duchess’s baby which turned into a pig in her arms. This is also the episode where the grinning Cheshire cat speaks with her and leaves while its grin remains afloat in air. Alice goes to a tea party which she declares as the stupidest tea party that she has ever been to, with the Mad Hatter as a host and a group of very odd creatures who keep on asking her riddles.

There are many other adventures which Alice participates in while she was in Wonderland, until she finds herself in a court where she was being tried for a crime. In the end, Alice was awoken by her sister for afternoon tea. Apparently, everything in Wonderland was just Alice’s dream –  or is it?

Until today, many adaptations have been made to honor the very beautiful and perplexing story of Alice in Wonderland including personal checks, and it is one of the classics which will always remain a historical literary piece and a legacy of family stories that are passed down from generation to generation.
