The world is a very complicated place where a lot of danger can be present. Some several decades ago, the World Wars created an image of fear and misery in the lives of every living individual. The entire world was at the brink of destruction because of the many misunderstandings and arguments formed between nations. Because of these, different methods of warfare were developed. One of these was the Air Force.
The Air Force is the official aerial warfare department of the government of the United States. It is also the same name used by many other countries to refer to their own aerial warfare departments. In general, the term “air force” belongs to no country. It is a very broad and common term that refers to any kind of aerial department which serves for the government of the country. The United States Air Force (USAF) is considered as the most sophisticated and advanced aerial warfare departments among all the air forces of different countries in the globe. The USAF is the latest addition to the armed forces of the United States, and was established as a separate body of warfare and military service in 1947.
Basically, as everyone knows in nature, the USAF is responsible for the aerial services and needs of the entire government. The branch is specifically intended for warfare use. However, since there is no often urgent need for aerial warfare services, most of the air force planes and military servants work for international works, government transportation, and civil services.
The most popular air force plane is the Air Force One. The term is actually a call sign or a code which means that the President of the United States is on board the plane. There are special planes which are intended only for this purpose and these planes bear the Air Force One symbol. But any other plane can also be used to transport the President of the United States from one location to another, and in such case, whatever the aerial vehicle the President may be riding, the call sign Air Force One will always be used.
There are 17 major operational functions of the Air Force. These are the particular duties and responsibilities of the Air Force to the government and to the entire nation. These include strategic attack which is aimed at defeating the adversary to maintain national peace and security; counter-air which is aimed at destroying the aerial forces of the enemies; counter-space which is aimed at destroying the enemy’s space capability; counter-land which aims to destroy the enemy’s land transport forces and vehicles; counter-sea which aims to destroy the enemy’s naval forces; information operations which aims to protect and preserve national information through electronic and network warfare; combat support which is directed to maintaining the number of aerial workers and utilities for warfare; command and control which is implemented if aerial warfare is directly established; airlift which is the method of transporting personnel or materiel through air; air refueling which is the process of transferring the fuel from the tanker to the receiver aircraft while in flight; space lift which involves extra terrestrial operations; special operations which are warfare tactics to overpower the enemy; intelligence which involves the collection of valuable information; surveillance and reconnaissance which aims to produce information through observation; combat search and rescue which involves the recovery of materiel and personnel; navigation and positioning which aims to provide accurate time and location; and weather services which aims to inform the government of the current weather condition.
If you are interested with the Air Force, or if you are a member of the Air Force yourself, you can show your pride by having symbols and images of the Air Force imprinted in your personal belongings like your bank checks, mugs, and even as a wallpaper or screensaver on your computer.
